The music is full of surprising turns, yet much of Arguelles's improvising on tenor sax sounds like Stan Getz, in that it suggests irresistible forward motion without insistence or urgency. It's all testament to Arguelles's growing stature on the playing and composing fronts

Very clever, but very dissappointing.
Through Midlands based youth big-bands of the early-eighties, Loose Tubes and collaborative ventures with the likes of Kenny Wheeler, Mike Gibbs, Carla Bley and Colin Towns Julian has demonstrated a superb soloing (and section playing) competence. This CD, of impeccable performance standards, left me very underwhelmed. Only one track 'swung' and the entire disc appeared to try much too hard to be innovative in (Julian's) compositions, orchestration and soloing.
My Favotist
I like very much Music Classic and Jazz, and my favorit saxophonist is Jullian Arguelles.
The best pianist of the new generation,of the World,for mee is Nikolai Lugansy that I see many Concerts.
