A twist on the traditional puzzle
Quite a few partially cut pieces here but not enough to spoil things, and none of them were what I'd call damaged. I only mention it because it seems to be becoming a bit of a "thing" with puzzles I buy these days. I'm sure it's a reflection of lack of investment in what can't be a big industry any more. Which is sad. That aside the puzzle is reasonably robust.
The twist is that the picture on the box is only a clue to what the puzzle turns out to be. You can still identify most of the static objects but people and vehicles will have moved. It's a fantastic idea and this one really made me smile when I saw how it had turned out.
I am definitely going to be buying more in this series.
"The Perils of Pauline"
Another great Wasjig. These are totally addictive. The artist has a very devious turn of mind, so much so that we can't wait to learn the answer to the mystery and see how the story plays out. Great fun!!
Wasgij Mystery Jigsaws
You will either love or hate the type of cartoon drawing used in this (and presumably every) Wasgij puzzle.
Whilst there is fun initially trying to work out what is going on, and the mystery dilemma is cleverly designed, the vibrant, graphic, unnatural colours distributed liberally all over the picture become increasingly irritating when there are 1000 pieces to put into it.
I began to wish that the train in this puzzle just ran over the cartoon characters, and that was the end of it. Instead the train almost did not reach the end of the tracks, but we soldiered on and completed it.
