A thoroughly enjoyable and very worthwhile read.
I found The Star Principle to be very accessible and easy to digest (unlike most business books) with the key messages clearly presented. The theories are illustrated throughout with excellent, real life examples and case studies where the author has practiced what he preaches to reap great rewards.
Whilst at first glance, it appears the book it aimed at investors, it very soon becomes apparent that methodology behind The Star Principle is of just as much value to small business owners (such as myself) and employees alike looking to identify that 'Star Business' to invest it, start up or join the ranks.
An excellent read that has triggered some very exciting ideas.
A well written book with plenty of examples
This book is a "must read" for all private equity investors and everyone thinking of changing jobs. Richard Koch quickly shows how to identify a "star" business and the rewards that can be achieved by investing in or working in one. This book is not a technical manual; more a quick guide with plenty of real life examples of businesses that have been stars or are still stars.
The Big Idea
If you're looking for the big idea or you already have one you hope will make you rich this book will help you to hone it. The advice is clear and forcefully presented. I found the chapter on prompts particularly useful
