the best game ever5
this is the best game ever made for any console. i have a ps3 and battle field is just so much better the only problem is that you have to have a fairly high powered computer to play it otherwise the load times are too long. the only reason it is not in the chrarts is because not many people know about it and stick to dull medal of honour. It is just such a good game and anyone looking for a first person shooter should buy it straight away>

Beware5
Since the launch of BF2 Vanilla they launched Special Forces. This was written by a different team and is a bit laggy unless you have a top notch PC. Then they sold booster packs being Armored Assault and Euro Forces, these were good but as most people did not buy it as they were young and did not have credit cards the servers using these maps were even at the beginning sparse. Today no servers use these maps which is a disappointment, as I bought both boosters twice for me and my son and may as well threw the money in the bin. Special Forces still has a healthy sever list as does the BF2 Vanilla. Overall a fantastic game.

This is better than Crysis or ET Quake Wars IMHO5
I have been playing this game for nearly two years and I have to agree with the previous positive comments and say, so far, its the best first person shooter ever made. I used to play the Wolfenstein series online and wish for some of the things this game offers.

To begin with it is hard to stay alive, but after a month you should be getting much better at it and start scoring better. There are plenty of servers running online games even now two years on. It is worth playing the single player game for practice, or start a server of your own on your PC [easy] for special practice like flying jets and choppers.

It is true, you do need a fairly good machine to get the best possible gameplay, but you can enjoy the game even with most of the settings turned right down. The previous comment about the gameplay being poor is frankly rubbish. If you have a top end PC then you can turn it all up and enjoy excellent graphics as well as brilliant gameplay.

All the vehicles in this game are driveable and the developers have gone to the trouble of making their movement as realistic as possible. You will get a chance to fly jets and helicopters, drive tanks, armoured personel carriers, jeeps, anti-aircraft vehicles and boats.

The game also allows for a level of teamplay missing in every other game by providing in game communications for players who join squads to chat with each other, commanders who can talk to the squad leaders, drop supplies, vehicles and artillery, and assist them with radar surveillance. When you are killed, if no medic revives you, you respawn 15 seconds later at your choice of friendly flag or on your squad leader's position.

On top of this there is a 'career' based scoring structure which saves your scores and a million other statistics online for you to review and even plan your route to earning rewards and medals. You start with a basic load-out of weapons but after your scores increase you will be promoted and certain new weapons will become available to 'unlock' which you can then use on the battlefield.

So there you have it, a game which is over two years old, still attracting new players, still keeping the interest of veteran players, still hasn't been beaten in terms of gameplay, what more could you ask?

GO ON, BUY IT!! See you on the battlefield [my nickname is Granpa$kunk]
