Editorial Reviews

Synopsis
Iggy Pop (aka James Newell Osterberg) has been a major recording and touring artist since 1969. His longevity defies all those who saw him as potentially the most self-destructive artist of his generation. Iggy has outlived and outlasted every label the press and public have tried to hang on him, as well as every movement that tried to co-opt his unique talent into its own agenda. Richard Adams' in-depth account of Iggy's career covers the 18 studio albums, from The Stooges to Skull Ring, via Fun House, Raw Power, The Idiot, Lust For Life, Blah Blah Blah and a dozen others. A detailed commentary on every song is backed up by information on the recording process, the Bowie collaborations, the live albums, the semi-official albums and reissues of early material. All the tours and known concert dates are covered, as well as videos, films and TV appearances. The Stooges and their re-formation are also covered in detail, as well as a snapshot of Iggy today.

Customer Reviews

One of only two books you'll ever need about Iggy & The Stooges!5
A superb book for the serious Iggy fan. Richard has compiled the ultimate guide to Iggy's music from the classic first Stooges LP upto Iggy's Skull Ring album which united him again with the Ashton brothers and birthed the reforming of the Stooges. It's a really entertaining and informative read.
A stunning photo section and an excellent and very useful discography (which has saved me much duplication)round off this superb book. Buy this along with Paul Trynka's superb Iggy biography and you've got all you need. If you find yourself obsessed then get hold of Mick Rock's Raw Power photo book!
