Customer Reviews

Bad! Bad! Bad!2
The sound quality on this is insultingly bad. The outgoing sound is quiet, muffled, distorted, fuzzy and the mic picks up background sounds loudly. I've done everything the weak support documentation suggests (images show a different headset on the installed help) without improvement. The incoming sound is acceptable at best, it does the job but is not the 'Crystal Clear' Microsoft's documentation promises. Overall I am very disappointed with the quality of the ZX-6000.

Impress your friends, sound like a dalek!1
I bought this product as it was the only real wireless choice for Vista. At the time of writing (May '08), bluetooth headsets are not supported out of the box by Vista, and practically all headset manufacturers do not provide adequate bluetooth drivers.

Ergonomics.
The headset is large and bulky and doesn't fit comfortably after 30 minutes or so, the earpiece is way too large and coated in cheap looking foam.

The wireless receiver is a little bigger than a standard zippo lighter, it only fits into a USB port via a long cable attached - it all adds up to too big a footprint. It is certainly not as streamlined as many bluetooth receivers.

The 4 status LED lights are positioned under the microphone, so it is impossible to view the LED status unless you a) look at yourself in a mirror or b) remove the earpiece from your ear. Rubbish design.

Reception quality.
Even when in direct line of sight of the wireless receiver there is intermittent noise and cut-outs. After a few tests, I find my range to be max 5m, but come across a solid wall and this thing throws a fit. Sound quality is like SW radio quality.

Microphone quality.
The microphone is too quiet even when set to a level of 100. During a call, friends complain about not hearing me at all or sounding like dalek.

Overall.
A terrible product, worthy of zero stars. Don't contribute to landfill by buying this.

ZX-6000 for Windows4
It's a very useful item for using with Skype (maybe not "crystal clear" but fair enought) battery is very good, so U can talk many hours before need recharging. I took 1 star for non-compatibility with Playstation 3... but what to expect from Microsoft :P.
