A revelation
Telemann's Brockes Passion is a major work, serious and dramatic and packed full of attractive and inventive music. I have always liked Telemann's music but had not realised that he had such depths and inspiration in him. I can't begin to understand why it is a relative rarity. If you love the great Bach passions you have to hear this.

The commitment of Jacobs and his team is unmistakeable and I find it hard to imagine a better performance. It is rich and richly dramatic with many beautiful and moving moments. Jacobs keeps a sense of flow and pulse throughout. It is beautifully sung and played.
