Average customer review:Product Description
For many years, race cars of all types have been constructed with lightweight materials other than aluminium or steel. These include fibreglass, polymers, carbon fibre, kevlar and reinforced plastics. The application of this technology is also becoming more widely used on street cars as stronger materials, are developed, costs become lower and techniques are simplified. But the most widespread automotive application is still racing, and the equipment and technology available today now make it possible for racers to repair, and even construct their own lightweight body panels using these mateials. This text is a comprehensive technical handbook on the most current technology behind fibreglass and other composite materials. It should be of interest to racing or automotive enthusiasts as well as the automotive engineering or design students and professionals.

Customer Reviews
Excellent for the beginner who wants to use fiberglass.
If you want to make things with fiberglass, this book is the one for you. It tells the beginner everything you need to know to get started, and includes a lot of information on the more sophisticated techniques that are interesting to read about, though you may not use them much yourself. It includes the theory, in understandable form, as well as the practice. And there's nothing else that begins to compete with it, as far as I can see.
Worth double the cost!
I bought this book with a gift voucher I won expecting it to teach me a few things I didn't know. I was soooo wrong. This book taught me everything I needed to know, plus a bit more. It describes techniques suitable for home users on any scale to building an aircraft or contemporary F1 car. If you're at all interested in this subject, then I'd wholeheartedly recommend you buy this book. I spent an excellent 2 weeks on the beach in Greece reading this and doodling designs. I'm still to get anywhere to practice what I've learnt, but when I do....
Great introduction to frp's
A fantastic book that describes the basics of frp's in very easy to understand terms. Once you have read this you will want to know more o the subject. Doesnt really go in to great depth about starting your own projects and making moulds etc but it gives you enough basic information to get you started.
