Modern interpretation a hit
OK, you're stuck for something to read, you want an alternate history, and you want something well written, something with a mythos and something quintessentially British. So what are you going to grab?

Obviously this title, as the Hooded Man fights the modern Sheriff of Nottingham, bow against guns presenting the reader with a thrilling story as well as an emotional struggle as the tale builds to the obvious climactic good vs evil fight to the death. Well written, emotionally pulling and a tale with fully rounded characters to please readers of numerous genres.

Post apocalyptic Robin Hood
My second Favourite in the Afterblight Chronicles, after Schools Out, Its a great retelling of classic good triumphing over evil which follows, a little too pridictably at times, the story of Robin Hood in a post apocalyptic England. can't wait to read this authors sequal in this series, called Broken Arrow!
