Why does your church exist? This WILL help5
Rick Warren's Purpose driven church is a book that will turn your thinking about what church is all about.
Why does your church exist? Is it purely for those who currently attend.
Built on the foundation of the Great Commandment (to love God and love your neighbour) and the Great Commission (to Go into all nations and...), Warren encourages the church to focus on 5 purposes of "outreach, fellowship, disciplship, worship and ministry" and organise the church around these purposes.

It recognises that everyone is on a spiritual journey and therefore the book suggests that the church needs to focus on five groups of people (community - unchurched, crowd - attenders, congregation, committed and the core) and build the church from the outside-in, i.e. reach the unchurch and take them through to committed and serving God.
I would encourage any church leader to read this book, and reflect on what it means for their local church. It has inspired me, and as a church we a prayer refocusing on what God wants for our church. (Happy to discuss with anyone who wants to drop me an email).
Finally reminder - God is building HIS church. Do we really what to help Him in that process where He has placed us?

Life principle that make your impact last longer than you do5
A dynamic life changing view of where you are going not only as an organization, but as an individual. This book based on Bible principles gives practical help in making godly decisions that will out last your position, disposition, and even your life. An absolute jewel if you desire to grow spiritually as well as increasing your sphere of influence. We are all comitted to something or someone and this book helps you decern to whom you are comitted and where that comittment might lead you. I call this book a chiropractic treat for the soul. Gives you an adjustment. Some times makes you sore, but always lifts you to a new level of growth.

Excellant5
Practical, easy to read. For those who are familiar with Willow Creek Church and seeker services, this provides many of the same principles and are presented in an understandable way. It could have been written by Bill Hybels but wasn't. Good to see another view of the subject. The principles if applied could revoltionize the church. Suitable for UK/Irish market too.
