Step-by-step guidance on all aspects of learning to drive4
The book is really best suited to complete beginners who are just starting their lessons, and acts as a complement to their instructor's guidance. It also sets out to be used as a bridge between an instructor's syllabus and practice sessions with a friend or relative. It gives a lot of tips throughout in studying towards the theory test. It is fair to say it covers every aspect of learning to drive, and in well sufficient detail, although it does not go into detail about the actual tests.

Had I bought this book at the beginning of my lessons I'm sure it would have been an excellent aid in becoming a safe, confident driver. However, as I have already passed my theory and am ready to take my practical test, I feel there is a lot of content that I no longer need to refer to. I can, however, delve into the book as a guide on areas I am not totally sure of. I'm sure if you used this book from the beginning you would be totally ready for the practical test anyway and therefore not need much information on that, but from my point of view I would prefer more details on the test itself.

everything you need to know 5
This book is an excellent book for beginners and also those driving for a while. it explains everything you need to know and is simple to understand . as it explains everything in different stages it is easy to follow, and also useful if you just want to recap on certain stages. it even goes as far as to tell you how to change a tyre.
Excellent. one of the best driving books that i have read.

Simple, easy to follow, and not so dull as the official ones!4
The author is a respected writer of books on learning to drive and driving instruction, and this book's clear and simple method is ideal to use alongside your driving lessons. It is also ideal to give your parents before they take you out to practice - it'll remind them not to get you into too many bad habits. If you have trouble with the dull government approved publications, this is by far the best of the rest.
