Amazon.co.uk Review
Best known to American audiences for his long-running title role in the Broadway smash-hit Phantom of the Opera, Michael Crawford issued On Eagle's Wings as the predecessor to his Emmy-winning PBS special of 1998. Blessed with charisma and classically superlative pipes, Crawford does a nice turn with his collection of easy-listening sacred and inspirational tunes. Christians with a penchant for show tunes and flowery vocals will delight in Crawford's renditions of "Amazing Grace" (with additional vocals by Maire Brennan), "I'll Walk with God", and "Ave Maria". Eagle's Wings closes with the splendid "Now the Day Is Over", featuring strong orchestration and the pleasing tones of both the American Boys Choir and the Saint Olaf Choir. --Paige La Grone
CD Description
In these troubled times, the Almighty could use a good p.r.rep. Michael Crawford, the British star of stage and screen, has eagerly taken on this task with ON EAGLE'S WINGS. Inspired by his days as a "towheaded eight-year-old" singing Latin hymns with his church choir, he teams up with The Saint Olaf Choir and The American Boychoir to lift our spirits. Mixing traditional ("Amazing Grace") and modern ("Joseph's Lullaby") inspirational songs, Michael explores his spiritual and artistic roots and tries to answer the questions we all face on our journey through life. Although he approaches thesesongs from a very personal point of view, the larger issuestouch us all.

The voice and music lifts the listener on Eagle's Wings
The songs on this CD are performed with great sensitivity to the words and message of each piece. Some songs are performed with quiet accompaniment and others with rich orchestration. Michael Crawford's voice compliments each arrangement.
