Customer Reviews

Great Book, simple and explanitive5
I have ready many sufi book and this is one is simple a very good start for the confused!
As the other reviewer stated ignore the Salaf opinion, they think they know everything and are hell bent on forcing their ignorance upon others..

Peace be upon you

Enlightening read5
Ignore the 'salafi' "review" of this book, as a blinkered and bigoted approach to the contents isn't the way forward.
The other review quite sums it up nicely though!
Ibn Al Arabi was known as the 'greatest sheikh' and he wasn't called that because he was some sort of bogus mumbo jumbo charlatan, he was well versed in all things Islamic and a man of great respect knowledge and bearing in the Classical medieval Islamic world.
His other book "bezels of Wisdom' is a master piece in spirituality and the modern layman can find much which makes perfect sense in his work!
Journey to the Lord of Power is highly recommended for those wishing for insight into the mind and methods of a Classical islamic Scholar and Sufi Sheikh.

Engage with the Real!5
This book adds further weight to the already impressive work of Henry Corbin et al, which perceives Ibn Al Arabi as a most profound spiritual and philosophic guide. To misquote Gertrude Stein 'what is the question?' - this is the philosopher's starting point, and a place of continual return. I can only recommend this book to you - once you have read it you will find yourself returning to it time and time again!
