Walking on Water5
One of the most exciting autobiographies I have ever read. I read until well after midnight for several nights and I truly had tears rolling down my face as I read the last few pages. Whether it was relief, tiredness, joy or sheer pleasure is arguable but his voyage was an incredible feat as was his determination to overcome his disability and lead a normal life. The way he has interlinked his life story with his voyage round Britain just made it impossible to put down. It is not just a book for sailors. It is not just a book to encourage the handicapped. It is a rattling good yarn. I both enjoyed and gained inspiration from it. It deserves to be a great "best seller".

The best book I have read this year5
For me a good book is one that I can't put down because I need to know what happens next. Well this was such a book. I started reading it on a plane, we had actually landed driven up to the gate and people started getting up to take their things off before I even realised we had landed...I was so into it. I then stayed up to the wee hours to finish it.
The book weaves the 3 stories together as a novelist would craft a thriller - which results in a compelling, well written tale. This is a true story of how one man overcomes adversity following a swimming accident which sees him wheel chair bound. He then goes onto achieve more than most do in a life time, but not just for himself - he contributes hugely to improve the lives of others. It is a very honest book written with no sense of feeling he is making himself out to be a hero - it is very self effacing.
This is a book that even if you are not interested in sailing is inspirational and well worth the read.

Walking on Water5
The structure of this book greatly reminded me of Fredrick Forsyth's novels with at least three threads active at any one time all starting from different points.

A very good presentation of Geoff's personal story of pulling back from tragedy, warts and all. I am sure the book will become a reference work for motivational speakers for many years to come and an inspiration for all people to help them conquer their own `Personal Everest'.

A very good read and difficult to put down even for natural breaks.
