Synopsis
Patricia Routledge has never been better than in the role of the terribly snobby Mrs. Bucket (pronounced 'Bouquet'!) who goes to any length to maintain the impression that she is of a higher social standing than is actually the case. With her long-suffering husband Richard (Clive Swift) in tow (and her terrible family safely hidden from view) it's never too long before she finds herself in yet another farcical situation. This 3-disc set includes every episode from the first two series.

Hilariously Funny
I am a 17 year old male and was surprised to find that I absoloutly loved this programme. Some moments had me in stiches of laughter. So glad i brought this DVD.
A BRILLIANT COMEDY OF THE 1990'S.
K.U.A is without doubt one of the best sit-com's of the early part of the 1990's. This is all due to Patricia Routledge playing the rude and snobbish Hyacinth Bucket or 'Bouquet' as she expects to be known as. With her long suffering husband played by Clive Swift as Richard. Not forgetting cousin Daisy and slobbish Onslow with man eater Rose, living in a run down council house. But it's her poor neigbours Elizabeth and Emmit who bear the brunt of Hyacinth's obsessive social climbing. Over the 16 episodes of series 1 & 2 Hyacinth manages to either scare or insult her way through the whole neigbourhood including the Vicar !. The whole idea is a brilliant one and though not cutting edge it's really funny and not dated. Of the DVD there are no special features at all unlike the Region 1 issue which is a real let down. I think the main thing that ruins this series is the BBC's constant repeats on a Sunday. It's a shame that Patricia Routledge can't be persuaded to bring the character back in a all new series !. But it's the perfect cosy series to sit down and watch on a quiet Sunday Afternoon.
It'll brighten your day!
I adore this programme and have purchased all of the DVDs. It never fails to make me laugh and Patricia Routledge is absolutely superb. Most of us have some embarrassing relatives and the way she tries to distance herself from them whilst obviously caring for them too is a delight.
Definitely a DVD to cheer you up on a rainy day!
