Pork sword!
Excellent, just keeps you laughing with simple but extremely effective humour. Kay and McGuinness are a great double-act and some cracking episodes and cameos (Noddy Holder). Hopefully the boys will return to the Phoenix in the not-so-distant future!
how dure yo, fabulous, love it, love it!!
Like Phoenix Nights this is fabulous, so funny, especially the p*ss take of dirty dancing, the pig in their camper van and when Paddy complains about having to eat Big Bob's b*starding beans!! Apart from the fact that Paddy (Patrick McGuinness is absolutely gorgeous, he will dink dank do for me!!). They are a fabulous partnership and when they are dressed in the officer's and sailor's uniform doing their dance routine is just fantastic, and when they knock the cow down and you see it fly through the air. If you love Phoenix Nights this is just as good. Please Peter and Patrick make another series!!!!!. 5 stars. A++
Give it a miss and buy anything else by Peter Kay instead
Seems to have been written on the back of an envelope sometime after the success of Phoenix Nights. Where Phoenix Nights relies on sharp dialogue and characterisation, this series is full of tired old cliches and daft situation comedy. The perfomances are pretty good, but can't hide the poor writing by the usual high standards of Peter Kay. Suffers from the usual problem of trying to extend characters that worked best as supporting minor roles into the focus of a series. Would merit less stars, except for Dirty Dancing in episode one.
