Editorial Reviews

DVD Description
This is Billy Connollys first new live DVD in over three years. Taken from his fantastic 'Too Old to Die Young' tour in 2005 it features the hilarious New York show. This is the first time one of Billys shows has been filmed in the US even though he has been touring there for over 30 years. Absolutely classic stuff from the Big Yin.

Synopsis
Stand up comedy with Billy Connolly recorded during his tour of America.

I am a big fan of the "Big Yin" but this performance did not even make me grin. He spends too much time laughing at his own jokes(all of which we have heard many times before).
I still enjoy his earlier work but i think his stand up work now is dreadfully unfunny.

I just wonder, is he laughing at his own stale jokes, or is he just laughing at the fact that people are paying him lots of money to watch him laugh at them.

laughed until I cried....4
For anyone thinking of purchasing this DVD, there is just one thing that I must say......there is one sketch he does with reference to operas/musicals - this is quite possibly the funniest thing I have ever seen! Having watched the DVD at a friend's house, I promtly went out and bought it myself!!
Although it is aimed at the American audience, I will still say this is classic Billy - and a must watch!

Big Yin in the Big Apple4
On first watching this DVD did not do it for me. I thought that perhaps Billy had lost a bit of his spark but then on second watching many of the quips and stories are original and directed at the American audience. Very enjoyable but not quite as good as the old Billy.
