DVD Description

Jimmy Carr is one of the biggest faces in comedy. Literally--he has one of the biggest faces. Following the huge success of "Jimmy Carr Live" and "Jimmy Carr Stand-up", the multi-award-winning Jimmy Carr returns with his third live stand-up DVD, Jimmy Carr - Comedian. Recorded live at London's Bloomsbury theatre, the posh-suited gagster unleashes his rapid-fire wit upon his audience, with jokes that are just too rude for TV. This DVD is Jimmy's best yet: the main show is over an hour and a half long, and it also contains almost an hour of exclusive bonus material. Jimmy plays to over 200,000 fans every year around Britain, so grab a copy of Jimmy Carr - Comedian if you'd like to see what all the fuss is about. As Jimmy himself explains: "This isn't a show for the easily offended, it's not even a show for people who are quite difficult to offend. Essentially, this is a show for people without a moral compass."

Special Features

1. Thumbing In A Softie--Jimmy Carr stars in an exclusive half hour sketch show recorded specially for the DVD.

2. Second Life--Coverage of Jimmy's one-off Second Life gig, where he became the first major comedian to do a live gig in the virtual reality world.

3. Soccer Six--Highlights from the Soccer Six charity football tournament where Jimmy captained a team of misfits.

4. Rubber Face Jimmy--Featuring Leigh Francis of Bo' Selecta.

5. Plus Jimmy's classic radio interviews with Chris Moyles and Steve Wright.

Synopsis

Recorded live in 2007, the Jimmy Carr - Comedian (Live) DVD sees funnyman Jimmy Carr sharing his cynical, but always hilarious, take on life's little absurdities. But don't let his deadpan delivery fool you--beneath that air of smug superiority lies a razor-sharp wit that he wields like a comedy Samurai, carving out little gems of sarcasm with each swipe.

Customer Reviews

I stole my friend's asthma inhaler.......what a wheeze4
Jimmy Carr is without doubt one of the country's most talented entertainers. From 'Distraction' to '8 out of 10 Cats', his dry sarcasm has certainly catapulted him to comedy stardom. This stand-up DVD does not disappoint at all and sees Jimmy deliver his quick-fire jokes at the normal rapid pace, but it's the other parts to his routine that stand out for me. In particular the sections where he helps people with ideas of what to write in birthday/get well soon/good luck cards, how to fill in job applications and also answering Agony Aunt letters in his unique way.

Favourite lines include:
Q. What will you be bringing to this job?
A. I will be bringing my sisters children on a Tuesday whilst she is at aqua aerobics.

Q. How long is your notice period?
A. I usually notice things straight away.

Jimmy's strength is his...................timing (ah ah see what I've done there!?), and also his ability to connect and build a rapport with the audeience (highlights include the cheerleader, and the bloke who claims that Jimmy's mum keeps calling him for sex - without doubt the funniest part of the whole DVD).

This is a brilliantly funny show and I would fully recommend it to all comedy fans. I'm now looking forward to seeing Jimmy live in July 2008 at the St Albans Arena!!

Best stand up this year5
This standup is absolutely brilliant puts Ricky Gervais' Fame to Shame the dvd also includes a half an hour sitcom which he wrote and starred in that is ok but buy the dvd for the stand up

Look no further for a comedy DVD5
In short this is the best stand up DVD i've ever bought and as long as you aren't easily offended it is a must buy!
