I purchased this for a recent trip to France, in addition to the Europe edition within the same series. The reason I bought this was that I thought it would include more French sites than the Europe edition. I was wrong!

CONS
Be aware that only a very small fraction of French sites are actually listed in this handbook. For example, if you choose a region you may find that there are only half a dozen or so sites to choose from for that region. Most of the sites seem to be about 10 miles apart with lots of sites in-between missed out.

PROS
Of the sites that are reviewed, the descriptions are very good, with lots of information about the site and the local area. Also the postcode is listed which is useful if you have Sat-Nav (unfortunately French postcodes work a little bit differently to British ones - never really worked it out - but it will get you within the right area).

Consider this option: Caravan and Camping Europe (AA Lifestyle Guides) (AA Lifestyle Guides) as an addition (but not an alternative). It has a lot more sites BUT much much LESS detail for each one!
