Ideal Guide
I bought this at the same time as the Collins Map and was so glad I did. The Collins map is rubbish and this is much better providing all the information we needed for a long weekend. It's got all the moorings, pubs, water points etc you just need a tide table to compliment it but there's probably one with the boat.
Dont Leave Without It!!
If you have already booked a Broads boating holiday first check with your hire company to see if this map is included in the price, as many will give you a copy when you pick up your boat!!!
Overall its a good basic map in full colour containing good information which will get you safely around the broads network allowing you to enjoy your boating holiday. There is also a whole lot of tourist information on the reverse side.
I have only given 4 stars as the map does not list every single public mooring place available to Hire Craft. It does list a lot of them but be aware that not all moorings are free Broads Authorty moorings! Other privately owned moorings are available for hire craft to use and some of these are also free, but there are many which require a mooring fee of £5-£6 per night. Dont be worried by this though as there will always be signs by the riverside which tell you what type of mooring you are approaching. Privately owned moorings which cannot be used by Hire Craft at any time will also be clearly marked!
The map also lists water fill up points, and fuel and pump out points, but again I discovered many which are not shown on the map. I just added these to the map with a pen, ready for next time!!
If you want a more detailed map of the broads then I would recommend the Ordnance Survey one.
essential
Buy this before you go on your boating trip. Accurate and up to date at that time of review.
