Superb!5
Everything that you would get in a typical Open Water course book, but in greater detail, plus history, biology, first aid, photography, excellent diagrams, and absolutely stunning photography on nearly every page.

Where ever they can use a photograph they do, every one beautifully composed, yet very clearly illustrating the point, whether it is giving hand signals, managing a cramp, or photographing a white pointer shark. Where photographs are not possible, they use excellent diagrams.

If you are new to diving, this is the book to get. If you have been out of the water for a while, this book will make you want to get back in!

It is a joy to read, and at a reasonable price. Not only does it give the technical detail that you need, it also gives you a real appreciation of the underwater environment that few other manuals do.

An excellent gift, if you can bear to part with it!

The book is geared more towards tropical diving, so if you are diving in Britain, the North Sea or off the South Island of New Zealand, you may be a little disappointed.
