Editorial Reviews
Amazon.co.uk Review
Terry Deary's Horrible Histories have stunned and amazed a whole generation of eager beavers who like their history with the nasty bits left in. Fabulously factual but with a sprinkling of gleeful gore, Deary has no fear of getting well and truly stuck in to the historical nastiness that more traditional historians avoid.
This time Deary plunges the depths of the revolution rat-race through the ages and comes up with endless knock-em-dead gore that leaves the reader in little doubt that there is more to history than pretty kings and queens flouncing around the countryside in flowing robes.
From the big-headed General Publius Quintilius Varus in AD 9 through to Nicoloae Ceausescu in latter day Romania all manner of dodgy dictators and subsequent uprisings are examined in gloriously gruesome detail, making Rowdy Revolutions a must for lovers of the kind of hilarious historical information that you just don¹t get in the classroom. (Ages 7 to 11) --Susan Harrison
Customer Reviews
Standing at c 8.5" high, this is larger than the average regular `Horrible History' series of books.
'History can be horrible. But some bits of history are more horrible than others. And one of the most gruesome, gory and gut-churning bits of history is the history of revolutions and rebellions.
What's the difference between a revolution and a rebellion? Glad you asked me that.....'
`Rowdy Revolutions' gives you terrifying tales of rebellions and revolutions - from the earliest days of horrible history to the pitiful present day.

`Sad 17th Century
In England, the 16th-century rebels failed to overthrow their rulers. But their 17th Century successors succeeded spectacularly!
Yes, all right, Guy Fawkes's plot was a bit of a damp squib in 1605, at the start of the Stuart reign, but later Stuart subjects rocketed to success. Not only did they get rid of King Charles I but they got rid of his son, James II, too!......'
Packed with black and white illustrations and cartoons.
Very Informative
This is got to be one of Terry Deary's best books. This book informs you about revolutions in a way that makes you laugh and gives you historical information at the same time. I eagerly await Terry Deary's next book.
This book is good but not as the others.
It's good but not great. I really wish that it had more on having your own revolution. Buy the Harry Potter Books instead.
