Radsail 145
Really good quality starter kite. Make sure you remove the tag as it can affect handling. Good response and with sufficient wind you get a good pull too. I bought two and stacked them. Great fun and a good price.
Fun to start but lacking a little...
I bought this kite at the same time as the radsail 1.8m, which may have highlighted its weaknesses to some extent. Although this kite is fun to start off with, and it needs little wind to get it up, it just doesnt have enough oomph! There is relatively no pull on it and it feels (and looks) much like a kids kite. One of it more endeering features is the stacking lines, by which you can attatch more of this model together and make a stack of them. However, i joined this up with another of my friends (exactly the same kite)and it still had no pull and was nowhere near as fun as the radsail 1.8m. If your thinking of buying a radsail for a novice flyer, go for the 1.8m, which is adaptable to all difficulties. Okay if you fly it in very high winds it will obviously pull you along, but in a low to mid wind it is much more exciting than this one.
Also, i should add that the packet it comes in is fairly awfull. It is essentially just a plastic wallet with a velcro fastening. Whereas the 1.8 comes with a proper backpack which is much more sturdy and means you can carry other things (like a picnic!) with you when you go flying :-)
