Step inside the strange, surreal and happy world of the Cowards in this original sketch comedy starring Tom Basden, Stefan Golaszewski, Tim Key and Lloyd Woolf. In their skewed series, a teacher falls in love with a mouse, and Little John and Friar Tuck accuse Robin Hood of hooliganism. A monk breaks a three-year vow of silence. But what question is he so desperate to ask? Some charity workers try to work out which of them has special needs. A man needs a new lightbulb for his lighthouse, and there's an argument about whether Trigger and Boycey are played by the same character. Mum and Auntie Pat come along to a job interview, a guinea pig asks for a fiver to go bowling again and nudists go swinging with Luther's privates. It's quirky, laugh-out-loud comedy in six unique episodes - as heard on BBC Radio 4. 'Re-inventing the tired art of sketch comedy...these four are brilliant' - "The Observer".

Customer Reviews
Funnier than something that's not quite as funny
The Cowards continue that great tradition of intelligent and very witty radio humour that the BBC do so well. What the Cowards do so well is to mislead you; it is virtually impossible to work out where the sketch is going, or what it's about until well into it, by which time you're hooked. They deliberately set you on one train of though, only to surprise you with an inventive, surreal or totally `left field' change of direction. When comedy becomes predictable it ceases to be funny; the Cowards certainly can't be accused of being predictable. If they were, it would be a false allegation and thrown out of court with costs awarded to The Cowards.
As with all cutting edge comedy, some of the sketches don't quite work, but The Cowards do hit more often than they miss and when they're funny, they're very very funny.
