Customer Reviews
ive heard it all before
is it really unseen???...i have heard most, if not all of the stories before...not one beatle song included in this package...even the incidental between stories is something recorded by a "sound a like" beatles band....poor at that!
some interesting "home movies" but im sure we have all seen the beatles running around the beaches in jersey with silly swim costumes on!!...for the collectors only
The Mop Tops Revealed
Fascinating footage from one of the key moments in the development of the group, including interviews with people who should know and, yes, silly swimming costumes. Personally I find the silly costumes very amusing!
It's not really "unseen" though, is it?
I must admit I was disappointed. I mean really, the only footage shown of the ACTUAL Beatles was muted clips of them getting off the plane, or else a few short snippets from press conferences. The rest of the DVD were people who knew them, talking about the whole journey from 63 to 66. Nothing hugely new or impressive, just basically describing the whole Jesus backlash and the enormity of the crowds and potential threat the beatles were in.
There is some interesting inside details though, such as John's dramatic reaction to the plane engine setting on fire, and George's insecurities towards the end of 1966. Oh, and there are some sweet clips of them on holiday in 63.
