Practical advice to save you money
As any smallholder knows the cost of a lot of small scale equipment is absolutely horrendous. This book deals with many of those useful but hard to get items.
Written primarily for smallholders, it contains no difficult woodwork techniques and even gives advice on where to buy wood and screws.
A cutting list would have been a great help - but the plans were easy to follow.

Smallholder's DIY
Gave this as a Christmas present to a 12 year old boy who has 60 chickens, two geese, 14 ducks, two pygmy goats, two ferrets, two ponies and a harris hawk. It has kept him very quiet since then with only the occasional request for more nails, a jig-saw and trips to DIY centres! Many strange edifices appearing in the front field, the menagerie seem impressed. A huge hit.

Useful little book
Useful little book.....I have never ever made anything before using nails and wood etc, but I adapted the nesting box and with the help of my husband - who can saw and use a drill...and i now have a really good nesting box waiting for when i finish the new chicken run.....well impressed...when i get my goats i shall try to make the goat house.
