An excellent basic French course with a grammatical approach
I was very impressed with this book and for me it provided the grammatical base which I needed to learn French properly - something that was never provided at school! It opened up an ability with languages that I hadn't realised I had! Since using it a few years ago I was able to go on and do GCSE and AS level French and since then I've tackled other languages such as Polish, Spanish and German.

It takes you through a series of chapters each with a grammar point as it's basis so you build up your knowledge as you go along.

The only drawback was it's lack of an index so you have to remember which chapter deals with which grammar point.

For anyone starting out in French I'd recommend it.
