disappointed
This item is extremely inaffective for me as my laptop protrudes a cm or so at the back (i have a Dell inspiron 9400). This means that the back gets very hot and i still experience heat related slow downs. The fans are okay at cooling the area they cover but do no adequately cool the entire base enough to be worth it. Otherwise the build quality is excellent but it just doesn't seem worth the price.

Huge difference
have a large laptop and noticed how hot it got and when it did, the number crunching routines slowed down+++

This has made such a difference to the heat under the machine and as yet I have not had any heat related slowdowns. The fan noise is audible but not intrusive. You have to turn the fans off to realise that they were on.

Nice mat surface, study metal construction. If you have a 17" screen notebook, don't get the smaller version as they end up overheating the large notebooks.

Not the greatest of all coolers
This item came with my laptop very long ago. The body of it is very well designed for the bottom of the laptop, however the fans are quiet which is mostly good, but the speed to breeze the laptop however is low. Very ineffective to doing its job. Hopefully in future the company will go back to the drawing board, and sort the low speed out. I do like the design of it, just not what the power comes with.
