Customer Reviews
Good design, simple to use, but not powerful enough
First of all, I'd like to praise the unbelievable delivery speed. I placed my order on Monday afternoon about 3pm, and I received it around midday the following day, despite the fact I picked the cheapest delivery option.
As for the actual product: I bought this product because my 6-year old Samsung laptop can get incredibly hot whilst running data-intensive applications, to the point that its fan starts making some annoyingly loud whirring noises, whilst slowing down the laptop performance. I got an expert to take out the fan in my laptop, clean it out from dust (this was about 6 months ago) and this overheating problem did not stop. So I bought this laptop cooler hoping that it would be an effective way to prevent my laptop from overheating.
The product is simple to use - just plug in a USB cable (no power adaptor required) and connect it to the laptop, and the cooler is running. It is very quiet, to the point you can barely hear it working, although if you put your hand over the fans you can feel a slight breeze of cool air.
Thing is, I did not find this product effective enough, simply because it is not powerful enough. I would have rather had a cooler with louder fans which were more powerful and cooled down my laptop more. I know this, because I have a laptop performance measuring program downloaded, which measures the temperature of your laptop processor. The temperature of my laptop ranged between 45-85C without the laptop cooler, depending on how many programs I was running at the same time, and how data-intensive these programs were.
With the laptop cooler up and running, and the laptop placed on top, the temperature of my laptop ranged between 40-83C. When my laptop was not under too much strain (I was not running too many programs on it) then the temperature was definitely lower than it would have been without the cooler. However, when my laptop was being pushed to its limits (it doesn't take much to do that on my ancient laptop lol), the maximum temperature was almost as high as the maximum temperature when the cooler was not being used: 80-83C with the cooler, compared to 80-85C without the cooler. I don't think a difference in 2C justifies spending any money on a fan - I had been expecting a noticable difference. Which was not the case.
Bare in mind that this was a review of this laptop cooler when used with MY laptop - maybe the cooler will be more effective when used with newer laptops with better in-built fans. I don't know that as I haven't tested this with other laptops.
For me, the conclusion would be: the cooler works. But it doesn't work well enough to make a significant difference in cooling my laptop. Hence it makes little difference in the performance of my laptop. So beware.

the 3 fan usb cooling fan does exactly what it says very quite could not hear it working. the delivery was quick I have bought 2 for my childrens laptops and find them worth every penny cant speak about reliability have not had them longenough but at this price who cares
Beware of product description
Haven't used this myself, but a colleague has just had two delivered to work and I've had a good look at them.
The product description is highly misleading - the cooler is NOT made of "top quality metal, so it can dissipate heat better than plastic coolers." It is actually made of low quality plastic (and therefore IS one of those same plastic coolers), and since it is powered by USB the actual airflow is very low (which accounts for it being so quiet).
I'm tempted to dispute the description: "Extremely heavy-duty construction the cooling pad to afford any weight or pressure put on." too.
It may work well - just be warned that you're not quite getting what is advertised.
