Synopsis
In 'Bogus Bandits', Fra Diavolo hires Ollie and Stan as menservants but soon realises they are just a pair of incompetent bandits. He, in his other guise, is known as the Marquis de San Marco, an aristocrat who discovers the whereabouts of the treasures worn by the ladies in high society! In 'March Of The Wooden Soldiers', Stan and Ollie are a couple of simple Toymakers in Toyland. Getting one of Santa's orders wrong, they make one hundred 6 foot wooden soldiers instead of the six hundred 1 foot soldiers asked for. But when Toyland is invaded by bogeymen, their mistake turns out to have been useful...
Customer Reviews
Good films shame, about the singing!
Bought these 2 films together as it was better value for money. These wouldnt be the first Stan and Ollie films I would choose to watch as the musical interludes dilute the comedy somewhat, but then again I had seen these films before and knew what to expect. Both films are B&W and not the awful colourised versions. The standard of film print is ok, straight from video I guess but it is perfectly watchable. One small mistake I noticed is that on the Bogus Bandits DVD there is a spelling mistake on the actual disc, it reads Laural and Hardy! somebody at Eureka cannot spell. All in all it is an ok release of 2 films which are not included in the Universal Laurel and Hardy box set.
Excellent!!!
I Couldnt have expected better than this!!! I had seen both of the films before and believe me these are the best prints available of the films. Also on The March the Wooden Soldiers is The 1915 Stan Laurel solo, Hustling For Health, which is also in unbelievably clear print. Eureka, Well done for producing Quality DVDs. Other DVD Companies make apigs ear of it!!! BUY IT NOW!!!!
