Editorial Reviews

From the Back Cover

This is not a book about the technology of online learning. Practical, accessible and direct, it looks at personalizing and customizing teaching and learning. Written for use in any topic, subject or course, E-tivities explores:

  • the importance of activities in online learning;
  • designing and running e-tivities;
  • the five-stage model of teaching and learning online.

Backed up extensive illustrations and case studies, and including a unique collection of 35 Resources for Practitioners, this is a book for all professionals involved in online learning.

Customer Reviews

Very useful5
I bought this book after reading Gilly Salmon's 'E-Moderating' book. I found that Gilly cut through the hype of e-learning and tackled the real business of moderating an online course - recognizing that 99% of the process is not about technology, but about how you go about doing it.

This book is just as good, outlining activities which, through action research techniques, stimulate online learning.

I'd recommend this book to anyone working in the field of online learning - there are lots of great practical ideas and I'll certainly be putting them to use in my work.
