And then he decides to rent out his matchbox stable to a mad ladybird and her chaotic host of ant friends.

More Fantastic Tales of the 'Timster'
I totally loved Harry's original book about Tim the Tiny Horse and this is just as fantastic.
Once again Harry both writes and illustrates, this time with the help of a photo or two. And what can I say? There's something for everyone here. I particularly loved the story where Tim convinces himself that his friend Fly's sister fancies him and goes all lovey dovey for her. We've all been through the experience of falling for someone who's totally unsuitable for us and so does Tim. Her explanation for her apparent interest in him is superb. But no matter, the little chap soon gets over his experience and chalks it down as a life lesson.
In one tale, Fly and his wife have a baby (just the one!) and Tim is asked to look after it one evening while they go out. Frankly, if the thought of an extremely small horse babysitting a maggot doesn't bring a smile to your face, there is NO hope for you!
Always gentle and good clean fun (it's for children of ALL ages - including 48 - my own age!), it is touching, poignant, sometimes sad and occasionally utterly hilarious. Once again the illustrations are great - a small picture of a spaghetti hoop inadvertently acting as a muzzle on Tim is very sweet and funny, as is a picture of him standing next to a tic tac as a demonstration of his size. I could go on and on...
Only minor fault is a spelling mistake on page 149, where the word 'apartment' is written as 'appartment'. Not a good English lesson for any young 'un reading this book!
It's £3 more expensive than the first book, but at half price it's a steal and something you can keep in the house to show friends when they call round. Alternatively, this would be a lovely little stocking filler for a REAL child this Christmas.
Touched with genius, this is a marvellous little volume, and Tim is a great little creation.
Magical
The previous book was bought for my 12 year old son. He loved it and encouraged me to read it. I had to then buy the second book for him (so that I could read it too).
It is a beautiful, sensitive, magical story of a tiny horse and what he gets up to and the friends he meets. He lives in a matchbox!
It is a book that will appeal to all ages. There is not a lot of writing and the pictures remind me very much of Rohald Dahl books. You can't fail but love the character of Tiny Tim.
Largely superb
Follow-up to Harry's bestselling hardback 'Tim the Tiny Horse'; this volume sees our minature equine hero take on babysitting duties and fall hopelessly in love with his best mate's sister, amongst other surreal ocurrences. Hill's self-aware style is certainly to the fore throughout; however the book never veers into smugness and will surely bring a smile to any parents' face.
