For Filth fans only...4
Cradle of Fear is a horror film about... well I'm not too sure!
It would seem that it's nothing more then an excuse to see a lot of blood and guts, but if that's what you like, then why not?
It's true, there is very little substance to this film, the storyline is almost non-existant, or rather there are too many stories within this film to keep track of, with one reacurring theme... Dani Filth as "the man". Yep, this is a film in which Dani Filth stars as a ... "man" but doesn't really play any part in the film at all. That's not to say it's not enjoyable at all! I myself am a fan of both blood and guts and Cradle of Filth so you can't really go wrong here! Just be aware, the effects really aren't that good. And like I said, Dani Filth isn't in this film nearly as much as he should be!

An excellent entry to horror films.5
I agree with Jonathan Ross on this one, Alex Chandon is defiently the future of horror. Hostel was a little bit boring but Cradle of Fear was far from that. Sure, the effects are not great but people have to remmember that this is not a big-budget horror film. Its budget is micro, but it makes up with some of the best ideas in horror history. The Sick Room is awesome and if you've seen the movie you'll know why I think that. Hollywood would never have come up with that idea.

I recomend this film to anyone who enjoys over the top violent horror movies. Cradle has about 22 gory kills and has enough blood to fill a swimming pool. The ideas are wicked and the music is superb. The quality is what really puts people against this film but to be honest, I think the quality is great. It looks a little like camcorder work but you get used to it (unless you're really picky) I'm sure you can forgive it. I wont hate a film for just a few little problems. The movie takes 2 hours exactly but does not get boring at all. Dani Filth is cool and plays his role very well. This feels like one of those films that wont be around for long. I find it hard to believe that the BBFC passed this fully uncut.

If you want a film which is extremly violent, has sick and cool ideas, has great music and is very entertaining to watch then I reccomend Cradle of Fear. If you're sick of Hollywood then Cradle will satisfy your horror hunger.

"IM BORED, I KNOW LETS MAKE A MOVIE!"2
The title to this review states what the director probably said prior to making this film!
First thing is that i absolutley love B-movies, especially gory B-movies! And i think that Dani Filth looks great as the psychotic satanic wierdo guy!
But this just passes the line of how incredibly bad a film can be! It looks like one of those outdated school educational videos, REALLY!
Which is a pity because there are some inspured gore scenes in this film. Not that any of the death scenes look remotley real, only one 'head shot' scene looks real, and it is actually very good in that scnese! But al the rest are laughable, as with the rest of the film!
Do not buy this film, only if you are a hard core fan and would remotley accept this for its blood (like me, im generous to give this 2 stars)
