Synopsis
For years, Mitch Rapp's bold actions have saved the lives of thousands. He has killed with impunity, tortured to avert disaster, and shown he will do whatever it takes to win the War on Terror. He has become a hero to many - and an enemy to countless more. Now, the powerful father of a dead terrorist demands vengeance in its simplest form: an eye for an eye. He wants Rapp dead - and his hate-filled plea has found sympathetic ears. In the tangled world of espionage, there are those, even among America's allies, who feel Rapp has grown too effective. They've been looking for a chance to eliminate America's No 1 counterterrorism operative - and now their time has come. Rapp must use all his skill and ruthless determination to save himself before he can turn his fury on those who have dared betray him.

Outstanding...
I discovered Vince Flynn while on holiday. The hotel I was staying at had a large pile of books in the corner of the lounge. I'm very pleased that I picked up 'Consent to Kill' it was a real find. Kept me captivated for two day's. Vince Flynn is a master of his genre, and an author whome I will read again. In the same vain. I picked up 'The Constantine Legacy' by Andrew Towning, and I would most definately read his next Jake Dillon novel when it arrives.
Fantastic, fast-paced thriller
The first Vince Flynn book I read was `Memorial Day'. My husband picked it up at the airport and had it finished and passed onto me within 2 days. I flew through it just as quickly. When `Consent to Kill' came out I'd no qualms about snapping it up. And just as with `Memorial Day' I was hooked from Page 1.
In this installment of the Chronicles of Rapp the hunter has become the hunted. A Saudi billionaire enlists the help of a Saudi Prince to help him find an assassin willing to kill the infamous Mitch Rapp in revenge for Rapp killing his son. What follows is a gripping, page-turning race of intrigue and revenge. I won't spoil the story by telling you what happens but if you've read any of Vince Flynn's books you'll have a fairly good idea. If you haven't read any of Vince Flynn's book then I'd match these books to those of James Patterson where you can't get enough and just keep turning pages until there are no more. If you're into fast-paced thrillers then this is the book for you. My next mission is to get the rest of this series and backtrack to where it all began.
Another page turner
I discovered Vince Flynn by accident, but immediatly he caught my attention, so much so that I have now bought all his novels. His main character Mitch Ryan is a gun happy CIA agent, and each book contains at least a few shootouts. But in the same way as Fleming and Clancy something draws you into the story.Don't start this book or any of Flynn's books if you are very busy, as they become very addictive. For new readers it might be a good idea to start with the first book, Transfer of Power, as you can trace this complex character and the American political situation change, with friends becoming enemies, and recurring characters appearing. This isn't to say that each book can't stand on it's own, but to get the full flavour, do yourself a favour. You can usually get the first few books really cheap at stores.
