Hi I’m Jason Vale, author of Slim 4 Life and otherwise known as The Juice Master.
Over the past 7 years I have dedicated my life to showing people just how easy it can be to make incredible lasting changes in the area of health and vitality. From how to stop smoking in just 2hrs and stay stopped, to how to get to the land of the slim, trim and healthy, easily, painlessly, and more importantly – permanently!
My passion to help others comes directly from my own incredible battle and complete turnaround in the area of health and addiction. I used to smoke 40-60 cigarettes a day, could easily polish off over 10pints of lager in a night and ate just about any junkie type food that was available. I was not only a fat child, but battled with my weight throughout my life - never less than 28lb overweight. On top of that I was covered from head to foot in a skin condition called psoriasis and was so badly asthmatic I needed puffs on my inhaler 6-8 times a day. I am now in the very fortunate position of being fat free, smoke free, junk free, asthma free, and for the first time in my adult life my skin is crystal clear. The best part of all about my journey to the land of the slim, trim and healthy was IT WAS EASY TO ACHIEVE!
So many people believe that changing what they eat and getting a slim, trim, light energy driven body for life is not only a difficult thing to achieve, but impossible! This is precisely why I have written this book. From reading this book in May and adopting most of the principles within it I have gone on to lose 4 stone in as many months and feel better than i have in years. The book is very informative yet easy to read and something about the way it is written makes you want to take heed and actually cut out many foods from your diet (something I never thought I could do!!). I have never written a review before but for this I had to make an exception, this many people can't be wrong!
Very good but some reservations.
I read this book 18 months ago and it changed my eating habits permanently. I'd tried and failed to quit having sugar in tea numerous times and always failed. Since reading the first few chapters I've never needed to add sugar to anything. By the end of the book I was CRAVING fruit and wholemeal bread. And this is why the book is clever. It admits that it is telling you stuff you already know; cakes and burgers are bad, fruit and veg good. However, rather than making you feel guilty for eating poorly it makes you eager to eat healthly.
There were a few things which I didn't agree with in the book
the major one being not eating carbs with protien, and I'd rather eat whole fruit than juicing them. But the fact that
I look and feel so much better makes the book well worth it.
It works
I agree with the positive comments here, and understand the negative ones. If you are looking for a concise guide to healthy eating this is not it, you know that stuff already anyway, sugar/salt bad, fruit and veg good. This book takes that info and allows you to change your mindset towards food. I have followed the principles but like others not juiced food yet and have lost some weight in a sustainable way and I can still eat anything I want.
