Beautiful Xiangxi
This is a beautiful book of pictures and words from the remote west of Hunan province in China.

Inspired by the works of Shen Congwen (1902-1988), Hunan's most famous writer, photographer Zguo Ya spent 20 years photographing the countryside and people Shen described. She took over 10,000 pictures.

The pictures are shown here accompanied by exracts from Shen Congwen's works which add to the atmospheric view of a little known, but beautiful part of the world.
