Temptations 135169 Chocolate Treat Maker
I have recently been given this chocolate treat maker as a gift. I like having melted chocolate with fruit to dip as a dessert when people come for dinner and having tried other ways to melt chocolate, without much success and with lots of mess, I have found this to be the perfect solution. It is neat, so can be put on the table, there is no mess and the pan and dipping forks etc. can all go in the dishwasher. The instructions say that the chocolate needs to be grated, but I have found it works just as well breaking it into cubes, it melts easily just requiring a stir now and then. I have used as little as 250g of chocolate and as much as 750g. I would recommend this product over a chocolate fountain, which can't be used without a huge amount of chocolate, mess and washing up! My children have made chocolate treats using the moulds which were a great hit!
A Winner
This product is excellent. Not only does it melt chocolate which I just break into small chunks quickly, it keeps the chocolate at the right temperature giving you time to work with it.
The machine also comes with a plethora of tools - lollipop sticks for use in the easter bunny mould, dipping forks, dipping tong, dipping spoon and spatula. The 5 mould sheets are 8" x 5" and are: sunflowers and stars, birthday cakes and small hearts, xmas trees and leaves, rabbits and bugs bunny-type heads (each of these sheets contains six moulds within each sheet - the final mould is the same size but contains just 2 large hearts.
I thought this would be saved for just the odd occasion but having only had it a few days I've already made chocolates as birthday presents for two friends which I popped in coloured sellophane into small decorative boxes. Both were delighted and amazed I'd made them myself. The price at Amazon is excellent almost half what I have found it at elsewhere.
Why didn't I buy one earlier?
If you have ever got in a mess when melting chocolate, if you have ever had the chocolate seperate into that thick nasty gunge, then this is the kitchen implement for you!
This is a wonderful little device that produces perfectly melted chocolate, and will even let you keep it at an ambient temperature too.
All you have to do is break the chocolate into small pieces (or use drops), and let the machine do it's work.
It will melt the chocolate fairly quickly once it gets going, and despite the instructions telling you that you must use cooking chocolate, I have had succesful results with cadbury's, milky bar, cheap supermarket chocolate, green and blacks... it all melts down great.
It's also suitable to use when baking with children as the pan doesn't get too hot.
The chocolate treat maker will let you say goodbye to fiddly and tiresome chocolate melting techniques.
