Product Description

In December 2008, Honda suddenly announced they were withdrawing from Grand Prix racing. The team faced oblivion, but their master on-track strategist, Ross Brawn, used all his tactical skills to put together a management buy-out - and Honda became Brawn. The team worked feverishly to fit Mercedes engines into the car and, with very little time to test it, took it to the season's opener in Australia - and Jenson Button, their driver who'd waited a decade for a real chance, won like a champion. Button won five of the next six races, too, and he and Brawn bestrode Formula 1 in a way never seen before. This is the full story of Brawn - the man, his team and their season.

Every persons dream5
The man they call the Bear is an amazing character and this book sums it up. He started out building scalextric cars and moved on gradually setting up his own company with a mate. The rest is history but it couldn't have happened to a nicer bloke. The book tells the story from his early days to the unbelieveable tear jerking end of the 2009 campaign. You wouldn't have bet on it and as a script for a film you would have to say that it is too far fetched to be believeable but it happened. This is a greta read if you are an young engineer looking for a role model in life or just simply an F1 fan. It's a must have.

A great insight4
This is a great insight into the story of amazing success pulled from almost certain failure due to the determination of one man, Ross Brawn, and an amazing team who continued to work on their F1 car despite Honda pulling the plug in the desperate hope there would be a way to bring it to the starting grid in Australia. Whilst not always 'gripping', the insight into the mentality of the key members of the Brawn GP team and the hurdles that team overcame is almost as exciting as the success Brawn GP achieved in their first year.
