Leave out the reminiscing
I have to say I was pretty disappointed with this dvd. I have been wanting for years to see extended coverage of the great Lions victories in South Africa -- I actually witnessed their 3rd test win at Wellington in 1971 and I remember vividly what fantastic players they had in those years.

Unfortunately, there is precious little actual coverage of the games -- at least for my appetite -- pretty much only the major scores, so no real sense of the ebb and flow of the match for which you would need at least 10-15 minutes per match, I think.

Worse than that, though, they fill up the rest of the dvd with the old farts waffling on about what a great time they had on those tours. I guess some people love that kind of jolly cameraderie stuff. Me, I'd rather hear their views on the games, their perspectives on the actual tussles and how they achieved those great triumphs. In other words, insightful analysis and illuminating banter. I should be so lucky!

Not worth the money I paid, I'm afraid. I'm still looking for those full games of the SA tour, or at least extended highlights. Oh, well.
