High quality and easy to install.
Based upon the previous review I purchased my first web cam. I am not disapointed! Installation via the CD (I felt I would allow the CD to install the software initially) was simplicity, once I had switched of my Norton firewall as instructed. Set up was idiot proof and so simple. Quality of the cam is superb! I expected delay and jumpy images, but it is almost real time! Sharpness, colour and clarity including depth of field is no les than superb!. The built in Mic' works very well and is crystal clear in reproduction. Of course there are a multiplicity of settings for all of the above criteria should they be required. The stand is or can be useful to raise the (Ziess) lens from desktop level to face level ( one can also set the cam to follow movement of one's face or body ...amazing!!) or alternatively place the web cam on its base on a convienient shelf. USB lead is more than adequate. All in all I am VERY pleased with my purchase in relation to build standard, technical level, easy of operation and image quality. A great buy all round.

This Webcam Looks So Cool !!!
This is the strangest looking Webcam I have ever owned. It's just looks like something out of a 60s Sci-Fi Movie. This however doesn't mean it isn't the coolest Webcam I have ever bought.

I downloaded new drivers from the Logitech website, rather than using the enclosed CD, as I have heard of problems with older drivers. Installation of drivers was simple and Webcam worked first time I plugged it in after driver installation.

The picture quality is incredible as too is the low light performance. I can cam with my friends only using the light from my laptop screen. The HD quality is fantastic. You can see that this is a 2MP camera. The face tracking software works fine and it's so cool watching the camera move and try to follow your head. As the camera comes on its own stand, it's always at eyelevel and you don't have to put it on your monitor.
The microphone is in the base of the camera and worked without any problems with Skype, Yahoo Messenger and MSN.

It is a lot more expensive than other webcams and on Amazon £20 more than the Quickcam 9000 (Which in itself is a great camera). However, if you want a great webcam, with quality picture and cool styling, buy this, you will not be sorry.

War of the world's webcam
I recently purchased the Logitech 9000 webcam and found the device to be very easy to install and setup. The quality and technical sophistication of the unit is confidence inspiring, as is its neatness and modernity with plenty of software controls to facilitate personal preferences. With the webcam on its stalk ( you may or may not wish to extend the height ) it looks as though it is a Martian invader from the War of the Worlds film set. Even when in an extended height position it remains very stable, facing tracking and the auto focus is not bad, but I do use a separate microphone for Skype.
