Editorial Reviews

CD Description
The first album by Charles Webster under his own name is much more downtempo affair than his previous work. On 'Born OnThe 24th Of July' he displays soul and deep house influences. He has previously recorded as Furry Phreaks and DJ Profile.

Customer Reviews

hauntingly melodic5
If your tastes are Zero 7 & Air then I urge you to buy this album. On a good quality hi-fi then layers within each track will keep you listening for a very long time, from the haunting opening track to the chilled out funkiness of the 2nd track and the continued ambience throughout this album makes you feel warm inside.
Every friend I've played it to has gone and brought it!!
Whilst Moon Safari is an all time classic, with Zero 7 not far behind this is one album that since I purchased 6 months ago I still have not stopped playing, just buy it!

Nectar for the ears5
'Oh you beauty!' ......Charles Webster has produced an absolute classic downtempo gem. The production quality is breathtaking, the songs beautifully arranged with lyrics that won't make you cringe! The opening track 'Sweet Butterfly' is possibly one of the best accoustic songs I've heard in years. So buy this classic now and it's combination of soul, deephouse and subtle jazz will keep you sane for years to come.

How did this one slip through the net ?5
There's a lot of music in the world and it's impossible to listen to it all. Inevitably there's something that never quite gets onto your radar so it is with eternal thanks to a friend of mine for pointing me in the direction of this beautiful piece of work. A mellow, laid back, soulful collection of soft beats that you will just kick back to with a nice bottle of wine in front of the fire. Sometimes Herbie Hancock, sometimes Massive Attack, always tripping softly and ticking over with a lovely pulse that'll have you feeling warm all evening. Wonderful.
