A hard to get book but a good introduction to Korean cinema
This is a good book as an introduction to Korean cinema which has only recently been discovered in the west and lets just say korean films are wee crackers. The book starts with 4 chapters of pretty stolid info about Korean cinema with a wee bit of history. Then chapter 4 has a series of must see Korean films and there are a few crackers there let me say. The short coming is it took me 2 years to get this book however well worth the wait, but it is a bit dated now as it only mentions films up to 2002. There is good descriptions of Korean films and the various genres that are popular. Still if you are patient enought to get te book it is a rewarding read and it does give an insight to what was a largly unknown film industry. So if you are a film buff this or just curious about korea check this book out as you may be impressed with a not so well known cinema now if you are Johnathan Ross get your hair cut man.
