Synopsis
On a rainy night a policeman is approached by a hooded man who cuts his face and then just walks away, dropping the weapon, seemingly without a care. Later on a couple are found stabbed to death. The policeman realises that the stab-wounds have been made by the same knife dropped by the mysterious man. An investigation ensues, leading to a suspect and finally to a deadly confrontation.

Superb Thriller/Comedy
This is one of my favourite asian films ever. Up ther with Oldboy and A Bittersweet life, which I also highly recommend.

It is about a cop who is after a serial killer. The cop is superbly funny in some parts and very brutal in other parts.

This film has many funny moments whilst it still has some very tense moments aswell. This is film is one of the best thrillers in recent years! Buy it now.

One of Korea's finest
No plot spoliers or detail here but I do thoroughly recommend you watch this. The sequel is also good but this is the daddy. A third in the series is on its way but as per usual, god knows how long we will have to wait for it at a fair price. Detective Kang or Kang division/prefecture? is a great character and his little speech that he recites to bad guys would be a great first sentence or two to learn in Korean - though possibly a hazardous one.

top class entertainment
This film presents us with one of the most entertaining characters I have ever encountered in film (what a performance). Detective Kang meets every situation with violence (generally comic), I have never seen such a temper on an individual. Like the three stooges with a machete he rampages around Seoul up to all sorts of dodgy deeds (and he is a policeman) eventually redeeming himself and becoming a good citizen and cop, well, a bit better. Theres so much more to this movie, social and political statements hidden in the plot but firstly just watch it as pure entertainment, leave anything else for the second third or fourth viewing.
