Customer Reviews
Far From Heaven
Unfortunately I purchased this CD based on the comments from the majority of the reviews. OK, there are a couple of good tracks in there...but most are pretty dreadful. It's no wonder the tracks are described as 'obscure' as that is where they belong...obscurity! I was around in the 70's and I can tell you that most of these tracks were not played in the clubs I frequented. Seems to me that Dimitri and Joey have been rather self-indulgent and included tracks for the simple fact that they are/were 'unknown' to the masses. Big disappointment.
Real Disco!
The ultimate dynamic disco duo; Monsieur Dimitri and Joey Negro, bless us with the result of their latest genealogical disco findings. Not one of these tracks will find its way on a "Greatest disco hits" type album and that is what is so marvellous about it! Those CDs are great, but once you've bought one, you cannot buy another disco CD without repeating half the tracks! So Disco Kings will be a welcome addition to any Disco lover's collection. It is also a great way for people who find the Bee Gees too cheesy, to ease their way into the Disco sound....The tracks have been edited just enough to make them sound more contemporary, but not too much to spoil the retro effect. Decadent and luxurious are the words that spring to mind when listening to this CD (the cover artwork helps too)........ Keep'em comin' Dim & Joey
Kings of Disco...
This is a must have cd... If you are interested in learning where house music cames from you should buy it... The two brilliant DJs - Dimitri From Paris and Joey Negro - has included a 4-5 paged booklet inside and comment each track of this awesome compilation..
In my opinion this cd is a must.
thx,
dimitris
