Which best buy ? (Not)
I chose this product because it was a Which? best buy. Presumably their basestation did not break down after about 4 hours as mine did. Another reviewer noted the same problem but I hoped that their duff product was just a one off. Not so.I didn't even have time to charge up the handsets before it conked out.A phone call to the Siemens helpline brought the response "take it back to the shop". Iigo replaced the defective part(s) very efficiently - was it a faulty basestation or its mains adaptor - I'll never know - but I'm not very confident that the product will last very long. I'll stick to Sony or Panasonic in future

Excellent audio quality, and very usable
After reading plenty of online reviews I chose these Siemens handsets, and it's proved an excellent decision. I live in a 3 floor townhouse with cast concrete walls where other cordless phones have struggled, but not these - reception is crisp and clear to the bottom of the garden and beyond. The handsets feel chunky and well made, and the screen is bright and easy to read. I haven't tested the text messaging, but all the address book and quick dial features work well and are easy to set up. As to the power consumption, well... I'd challenge even the most ardent of environmentalists to spot a difference in their bills for something as low powered as a DECT phone, but there's no question these handsets do run for a long time without charging - I've had 90 mins of talk time out of mine, and it's still been registering half battery.

Gripes? All three handsets came configured with a "globe" screensaver that displayed 24x7 when they were docked. This would undoubtedly burn into the screen over time, lit up the bedroom at night and is hardly environmentally friendly! I was eventually able to switch it off, but it took a fair bit of nosing through the menus. Oh, and be careful when copying address books between handsets - if you've added 3 or 4 new numbers to one handset, it's better to clear the other handsets address books then copy the whole list back to them (saves time and prevents duplication of numbers).

Overall though, these are superb phones - I'd certainly buy them again. Highly recommended!

Great Product, super service
The Siemens Gigaset C475 arrived promptly from liGo (thank you!), giving me plenty of time over the weekend to familiarise myself with it. It's a great little phone and works really well. I was pleasantly surprised about how intuitive the menu was. It was a joy to set up. Also, as an additional bonus, the SMS text messaging function, which never worked on my previous BT Diverse cordless phone system (and the BT engineers couldn't figure out why), now operates beautifully!
