tale... a treat that's sure to entertain.'

From the Author
Hi Everyone - for my eleventh book I thought I'd try to give
myself a real challenge, tackle a tough subject - so, yes, I settled on
chocolate! I had a great year researching this thoroughly interesting
subject and discovered that - you'll never guess - that I'm not the only
one who loves it. So my novel is based on four women who are drawn
together by their mutual love of this wonderful foodstuff and, when the
going gets tough, they turn to each other and to chocolate for solace. I
know, we've all been there! I think its one of my best books yet and
there'll be a sequel to it - The Chocolate Lovers' Diet - following in
August 07. So curl up on your sofa, get a box of your favourite chocs and
enjoy. Lots of love. Carole Matthews : )

Bonded by friendship and chocolate!5
This is the heartwarming story of four friends, brought together by a love of chocolate, but bonded together by their friendship.

Carole introduces fours different characters, all very different, and all with different problems. Yet despite their different backgrounds, they all manage to help and support each other.. often with hilarious outcomes.

As a reader, it's a joy to find that they're all likeable.. their situations are believeable, and you care about what happens to them. It's almost like having them as your friends too.

Although the ending does wrap up nicely, it's also left open for the sequel, which is out later this year. I'm very much looking forward to it.

This is one of the best 'chick lit' books I've read for some time, with an interesting mix of characters, and believeable situations. It's both touching and funny, and is highly recommended!

Great fun!4
Definitely a book for chocolate lovers everywhere - Carole Matthews scarcely goes a page without at least one mention of that precious substance, and the role it plays in the characters' lives is prominent. Chocolate, after all, is what brought the four women comprising the Chocolate Lover's Club together, and their friendship is cemented by their meetings in their favourite cafe, Chocolate Heaven.

This is a feel-good book - pure, heady and unadulterated chick-lit. I can't speak for men, but women will love it - it's a book with a heart, as the author manages to mix Ocean's 11-type escapades, white-water-rafting accidents, and several hilarious moments with more sombre themes: the break-up of a marriage, a husband's addiction to gambling, and a cheating boyfriend.

But at the same time, this is not a sad book. The ending is resolutely happy and hopeful, and when things get really bad for our four heroines there is always a box of Thorntons Continental for them to drown their sorrows in.

Matthews has written a really fun, uplifting (and girly) book, with a likeable narrator and excellent background characters. It's not something for you to take too seriously - instead, it's a book you should read over a cup of hot chocolate, ready to laugh and smile at the events that take place. I'd heartily recommend this novel, and I hope that everyone enjoys it as much as I did.

Addictive as chocolate5
This is a brilliant read I'd recommend definitely. Really funny characters, twists and turns, a great atmosphere about it. This book is feelgood and you can't wait for the sequel. So I'd plump for this one if you're looking for a good read and then grab the next installment.
