In this game, competitors battle in an extraordinary arena with their Beyblades, using their exceptional powers to destroy opposing blades and make themselves virtually unbeatable. Players attempt to battle through a tournament in order to win the legendary Beyblade championship and can upgrade their Beyblader as well as the Beyblade itself as they earn Bey Points and experience along the way.
Players start by pulling the ripcord and attempting to control the top by making it spin into the massive battle bowl. By changing direction and invoking a special attack from the Bit Beast they can try to beat their opposition with the skills they have acquired. There are three different ways to defeat an opponent: knocking them out of the stadium, beating them into submission so they are no longer able to continue, or playing a game of cat and mouse with them until they can no longer spin, thus ending the match. Beyblade also gives you two complete ways to play the game where you can either enter a tournament or take part in a free battle.

Beyblade: Let it Rip
Beyblade is something I have recently got into, and even at 17 I think the television show is great. The game, while alot of fun, only contains in tournament action where, it takes a 7 battle to victory format. There is no story mode, so you can't join in with events you may have seen in the cartoon, but you can fight a friend in a two player battles, which is alot of fun.
The battles may not be quite what you hoped for but you shouldnt be disapointed, the Bit Beast powers while not spectacular are fun to use the first few times. The battle graphics are very PS1 so next gen console owners may be disapointed.
Once you have created your character (male or female and then given them a name), you do get to choose your own Beyblade with either a Knight Dronzer or Kid Dragoon as your Bit Beasts, (more are available later). With victories in the tounaments you earn yourself and your Bit Beast experience points, making you a stonger player. You also earn "Bey Points" with victories which allow you to buy components to improve your blade.
This review does make it seem as though I hate this game, but dont get me wrong, I've played it for a couple of hours already, and it only arrived this morning. The flaws bring the game down to a three, but i'd get this game. I bought it to tide me over untill the Game Cube release of Beyblade Super Tounament comes out and im not disapointed.
beyblade ps1
the game i find good though after a few hours it becomes repetative, the multiplayer function does help there. controls are simple but if you rip hard enough attacking blades just tend to bounce straight out the staduim as they are hard to control in the single stadium featured in the game.
Customising blades is ok but it is hard to earn the money when the only way available is through the tournament mode, either by winning/losing(not as much for a loss obviously) or by selling parts you win from winning the tournament. Thoough it is a good game it does show the fact that its only a ps1 game, i personally hope the gc outing will b waht i expect.
Beyblade: Let it rip! psone
This game is really good fun and entertaining. The tournement mode is good fun and customiseing youre blade makes the game even more enjoyable. The gamplay is very good unlike the GBA game it does not focus on using 'special' attacks to win the game it is blade on blade and if you get a certain amount of 'legend points'(you'll soon know what these are) you can unleash your bit power or try to use a special launch (note: not all bit beasts have a speacile launch)the graphics aren't stunning but it's on a psone and to expect more is prety ridiculus. So why have i only given 4 out of 5 well mainly because :
1) it lacks a story mode which really adds depth to a game
2) you cant sell stuff you buy! (i brought a leftspin launcher and leftspin gear but now i need a leftspin base and i cant sell my current one for beypoints.)
its worth the money it's fun and very playable the controls are easy (i just got my 5yr old bro playing it). i'm just waitin for the one on gamecube to come out, TEAM battles !!!!!
James.
