Customer Reviews
Is it off to the Bun-Vac 6000 for you?
I am an avid Wallace and Gromit fan and have been since the first airing of "A Grand Day Out"; so was delighted when I recieved this for Christmas. The Clock itself is quite large, so you need plenty of room on your bedside table! The characters are true to their 'real-life' selves, and the backlight feature I feel kids will enjoy. There are light/snooze, demo and alarm off buttons in the form of the delightful rabbits, and the clock fascia and hands are glow-in-the-dark, although I recommend that it is exposed to a strong light before use as it is not that powerful. The characters themselves are also glued down pretty strongly, so I am doubtful that it will cause any serious choking hazards- but then again it depends on how determined and strong the child is! The alarm facility itself is however slightly dissapointing. It is an analouge alarm clock, and therefore has to be set using an alarm hand. This task is made more difficult by the fact there are only the numbers 3,6,9 and 12 visable. I find to set the clock i have to set the alarm hand, and then move the clock hands to the time I want it to go off until i hear a click, so that i know it will go off at the time I want it to. Therefore, setting the alarm is a fiddly and time consuming process, and in the end tends not to be that accurate- it never goes off bang on the time you want unless you have spent a good 30 minutes working out the time it will go off; so sometimes there can be a 5-10 minute difference on the time you want the alarm to go off, and the time it actually does! Also, as it is an anolouge clock, it is set to go off at that time every 12 hours, and so you need to switch the alarm fully off, using the switch that is inconveinatley situated at the back of the clock- which means having to pick the clock up and turn it around, which is annoying as it is such a large piece of equipment. So, if you are looking for a clock that your child can set itself, this is not really the clock for you. I have some difficulty and I am 20 years old! However, if you get up at a set time every morning, once you have the time set, you should be ok and not find it too much of a hassel. As a student, my timetable fluctuates as I study Drama, and need to be in for rehearsals etc. So if you are like me, you do have to be prepared for a bit of fiddling about. All in all though, this a fun clock, and is a definate must for any Wallace and Gromit fan to add to their collection. And it holds my jewelery quite nicely!
