Manufacturer's Description
This heavy-duty stainless steel product grinds fresh coffee beans for a great flavour and aroma. The burr grinding plates have eighteen different settings so you can choose fine ground coffee for your espresso machine, medium for filter coffee or coarse for the cafetière. The machine is extremely easy to use as it is fully automatic, simply fill the bean hopper with fresh coffee beans, select the coarseness and how many cups you require and press start. It is easy to clean as all removable parts are dishwasher safe.

no good for expresso
Further to the last review I can confirm that this grinder is no good for making expresso as it does not grind finely enough. Avoid at all costs if you do want a creme head on your expresso.
no good for espresso
Do not buy this machine if you wish to make espresso, it will not grind the bean fine enough. I have used one for 2 weeks at the finest setting for use ina gaggia classic, I am a trained gaggia barista and cannot get a good crema with this grinder. It is fine for cafetierre and filter but not espresso.
what are you guys on!
The grinder I have (now 6 weeks old) has so far ground 1.5kgs of dark roast, for use in an Espressivo extracter (Dualit).
On the finest setting, it's far too fine for espresso! I use third from the bottom for perfect grinds (and I mean perfect) I have very little powder produced and the grind is even throughout each batch.
The crema I produce is thick, about 2/3 mm deep, the coffee is dark and very bold, verging on bitter, but the right side of that line, perfect! I suspect this is mainly due to working out the perfect tamp for your grinds, and the pressure your machine can provide as well as achieving the perfect grinds.
It does need a little clean every week, just poke the residue off the outlet which does build up, very easy to do with the tool included.
The hopper unscrews easily to alow cleaning of the burr plate should you gum it up with some dirty fat robusta's, even easier with the included brush!
I have seen other grinders in action that cost three times the amount of this one and have bareley matched it's output.
One thing to note, it does spin up like a bugger, i'd be more re-assured if it sounded slower with more torque, it sounds cheap, but is far from it.
Any concerns about heating of the grinds through the high spin speed should be dismissed however, as i use my beans from the freezer (for freshness) they are almost as cold afterwards as grinds. I'd say they don't suffer from any appriciation on temperature.
I don't know what the problem's have been for the other reviewers, but combined with the 5 years manufactoring gaurantee, i'm absolutley chuffed to bits, which after reading these reviews before i got it home, was initially very worried.
So if you're reading this worrying about the other reviews, don't listen, I honestly couldn't fault mine one bit. give it a go, if you don't think it's grinding espresso right for you, then take it back as it's not working as advertised, simple as.
ONE WORD OF WARNING, you'll never be able to drink your local barristas coffee again!
