easy clean is an understatement
I recently purchased the De'Longhi Cool-zone fryer.
What a cool fryer this is. So easy to keep clean because I can wash practically all of it in hot water & detergent.
It only takes about five minutes to heat up the oil from cold.
I cooked fish in it & changed the oil when it cooled. It was a doddle to do with the easy clean tap system. Every time I want to cook fish now I drain the good oil & replace it with my fish oil.

Best fryer we've tried to date!
Having despaired of those circular plastic deep fat fryers over many years (how DO you clean them??) we decided to give the De'Longhi Professional Cool-Zone Fryer with Easy Clean, 1Kg a whizz.

Good - extremely easy to clean as long as you are prepared to do so after every use (when it's cooled down for draining). Very hassle-free and fits in the dishwasher no problem.

Negatives - 160 deg is recommended for chips; astonishingly we found that the rotary thermostat kept setting itself to higher temperatures, or so we thought! It seems that it is fairly easy to knock the stat when lifting out the basket, now we know we're that bit extra careful, and no more problems.

Another point to note is that 160 seems a little hot for the chips, they cook outside no problem, but to get the inside soft and fluffy (and not crunchy!) the outside gets a dark brown, verging on burnt. So some experimenting sees just about 150 degrees.

Finally, the only niggle is with draining the oil. While the operation is itself very easy (open a tap) you have to build a platform from whatever you can find to hand in order to raise the 'tank' high enough to drain the oil into an appropriate receptacle eg a two-litre plastic oil bottle. The bottle sits in the sink while the tank sits on a 3-inch thick chopping board which itself is placed on top of the empty fryer casing, which holds the tank for frying.

All in all, no regrets in purchasing the product, it's easy to use, fantastically easy to clean, once you get used to it it's a joy.

Oh, and don't forget that if you leave the drain tap open for the wash, close it before you next fill the tank with oil...

BEST EVER DEEP FAT FRYER
Incredibly easy to empty using the tap - no more messy oil everywhere.
So easy to keep clean - just lift out the heating element and put everything else into the dishwasher.
Permanent filter is cleaned every time you wash the lid.
Just wish I had brought one like this years ago and saved myself all the aggro!!
